Watch The Real L Word Season 3 Episode 6 Online
This recap is late because there were a number of moments where I was so overcome with secondhand embarrassment and/or incredulity that I had to pause it and go do something else (play Zelda, make toast, watch Olympic soccer, floss my teeth, sign up for jury duty, etc.). Not even joking. If not for Sara, Whitney, and the wonderful people at the Franzia boxed wine company, I might not have made it through this week.
We kick off with Sara and Whitney packing for their trip to Sara’s parents’ house, where they plan to break the news of their engagement. Whitney is nervous, because Sara’s Portuguese parents are a bit traditional, and she frets over what to wear. Which is funny because I hardly think wearing boat shoes or combat boots will matter with the cacophony of tattoos, dreadlocks, and earlobe stretchers she has going on. It’s like worrying if your clothes are wrinkled when they’re full of holes and covered in dirt. Still, it’s kind of adorable, and watching Whitney squirm is really fun.
Meanwhile, Kacy and Cori are in full-blown depression mode after their miscarriage. “We are both brokenhearted and sad. And we are there together…sitting there in the pit of hell. And I wouldn’t want to be there with anybody else than her.”
If and when you find the one woman with whom you could imagine sitting next to in a boiling cauldron, marry her pronto, and hope you never have to actually go through it. I’ll say it again: these two are champs. Even more so because when they’re finally able to rouse themselves out of their months-long exile, the first thing they do is go and thank the nurses that helped them. Talk about living for others. And now I feel like a shallow, useless bastard, and you probably should too.
Lauren and Amanda are getting ready to hit up some Brooklyn nightlife when Lauren says she has some errands to take care of, and promises to be back in an hour. She must use the same time concept that the cable company uses when giving estimates for appointments. More on that later.
